The original inspiration for "TomSongs" was a "music therapy" experiment directed towards the Families of 9/11. Years of clinical work blended with my interest in songwriting resulted in a few decent songs. My annual trips to New York and New Jersey began as compassionate advocacy. Years later, WTC is still a gaping hole in the ground. The Human Remains of our WTC Victims are still buried amidst NYC trash at Fresh Kills Landfill in Staten Island and America for the most part has moved on. Several critical issues remain unresolved including the ever increasing number of WTC Rescuers, First Responders, Recovery, and Clean Up Workers now confronting serious health complications and a rising death toll.
Within this website, there are songs, slideshows and short films related to 9/11 and Iraq. Coincidentally, there is no other credible link between the two subjects as our government indicated while the smoke still billowed from Manhattan, Shanksville and the Pentagon. As Bushco gave way to Obama's "Change" regime, nothing has really changed with respect to these subjects. 9/11 Responders are still dying while the lawyers negotiate their profit margins. America's military is spread across Iraq and Afghanistan taking inbound shrapnel as Iran and North Korea continue to provoke our full attention. American politicians continue to degrade themselves with scandals, ethical lapses and outright fraud. Our Constitution provided remedies for this corruption but the cancer is systemic and the cure will only come from the people. Sounds downright revolutionary, huh?
Informed consciousness is an American freedom and a requirement of citizenship.
The Oath of Allegiance to the United States
The following is the text of the Oath of Allegiance:
I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.
For the nearly 3000 Humans stolen from us on 9/11 (half that were never found), the thousands of American Soldiers we have lost due to our terminally incompetent leadership and the hundreds of thousands of innocent bystanders killed each time we inflict democracy and religion in their countries, please take a moment to reflect.
Call your Congressman, write a letter, comfort a Family, write a song, help a stranger. Doing nothing is not an option.
Speak Up! Speak Loudly! Speak Now!
